White Prairie Clover (Dalea candida) is the elegant white-flowered companion to Purple Prairie Clover — equally tough, equally beneficial to the soil, and equally beloved by native bees who seek out its nectar-rich blooms. Like its purple cousin, it was used by Native peoples as a fever tea and wound wash, and its deep nitrogen-fixing roots improve the soil around it season after season. It thrives in the dry, well-drained soils of Louisiana’s prairie edge with almost no care once established.
