Les Grenouilles de Minuit — The Midnight Frogs | Bilingual Story & Activity PDF

A secret frog choir. A midnight concert. A bayou full of sounds.

At bedtime, Camille imagines frogs singing beneath the stars while Mamère helps separate storybook wonder from real-world observation. Les Grenouilles de Minuit — The Midnight Frogs is Book 3 in Big Mamou Enterprises’ Bayou Children’s Folklore & Craft Series.

Inside this five-page PDF

• An original folklore-style story in English and Cadien-inspired French.
• Bilingual instructions for listening, comparing sounds, and making a Bayou Sound Map.
• A printable Sound Map page with a symbol key and space for unfamiliar sounds.

Suggested for ages 5–9 with adult supervision. Listen indoors using adult-selected wildlife recordings, or from a safe, dry spot near home at a family-friendly hour. No midnight outing, water access, or handling wildlife is needed. Recordings are not included.

The midnight rain-warning choir belongs to this invented story, not a documented traditional Cajun tale. Real frog calls vary and are not reliable weather forecasts. The activity encourages observation and imagination without requiring children to identify species.

Digital PDF only. No printed booklet, audio files, or activity supplies included. Nothing is shipped. French expressions vary by family and community. For personal and family use.
