Le Chasseur de Lucioles — The Firefly Hunter | Bilingual Story & Craft PDF

A tiny evening light. A moment of patience. A lantern that leaves fireflies free.

Camille and Mamère watch for ti-lumières from the porch and discover that an adventure can mean observing rather than catching. Le Chasseur de Lucioles — The Firefly Hunter is Book 5 in Big Mamou Enterprises’ Bayou Children’s Folklore & Craft Series.

Inside this five-page PDF

• An original story in English and Cadien-inspired French.
• Bilingual instructions for decorating an insect-free pretend firefly lantern.
• A printable observation, drawing, and reflection page.

Suggested for ages 5–9 with adult supervision. The craft uses an unbreakable plastic container and an adult-installed LED light with a secured battery compartment, or a paper drawing alternative. No glass, flames, or captured insects. Children do not handle batteries. Adults follow the light’s manufacturer instructions.

Real fireflies are observed without chasing, touching, trapping, or shining bright lights at them. Outdoor observation stays beside an adult in a safe, dry place near home. This original imagined story is inspired by Louisiana family life, not a documented traditional folk tale. French expressions vary by family and community.

Digital PDF only. No printed booklet, container, LED light, batteries, insects, or craft supplies included. Nothing is shipped. For personal and family use.
